Die Opera is a living art form. It comes to life here and now when stories are being told on stage. Internet Opera arises on a stage which is the virtual world of the Web community.
The Internet is democratic, diverse, communicative, interactive and direct, it challenges experiments, the presentation of their ideas and views, it renews itself - ideal conditions for founding a stage.
Internetoper lets you become opera directors, actors, set designers, film artists. According to your ideas, you can stage scenes of "The Manon Incident", the love story between young, luxury-loving Manon Lescaut and poor student Des Grieux Armand. The opera singers of the Musiktheaters im Revier and the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen record for you the music of two operas that tell both the same tragic love story, but from very different angles: Giacomo Puccini's opera "Manon Lescaut" composed in 1893 and Hans Werner Henze's lyrical drama "Boulevard Solitude" of 1952. With the aid of the novel by Abbé Prévost, we have linked these operas to a continuous story and divided it into short episodes. mehr...
You can select one, several or all episodes to realise your ideas in your own video, upload it to us and in doing so become part of the Internet opera. The ToolBox contains all episodes along with exact instructions, a short description of the action, the accompanying music in two variants, an orchestra video and the text sung in German translation.
